Chateau Gombaude Guillot, Pomerol 2016 Magnum

Château Gombaude-Guillot is a family estate in Pomerol, on Bordeaux's Right Bank, and one of the appellation's pioneers of organic farming. Pomerol's clay and gravel soils give Merlot its rich, velvety character. The 2016 vintage was a great one in Bordeaux, and this magnum (1.5 litres, equivalent to two bottles) is ideal for a special dinner.

Black fruit and pressed flower scents. Medium-bodied with subtle tannin, a fine line of acidity and hints of black pepper and clove toward the finish.

Serve with: roast beef, lamb, duck or mushroom dishes. Decant an hour before serving.
