Bertani, Amarone Classico DOC 2012

Regular price £122.50

Bertani, founded in Verona in 1857, is one of the great historic names of Valpolicella and of Amarone in particular. Amarone is made from grapes dried for months after harvest, concentrating their sugars and flavours, to give one of Italy's richest, most powerful reds. This 2012 has had over a decade to mature.

Intense red with hints of garnet. Typical notes of plum, cherry and Morello cherry on the nose, followed by tea leaves, liquorice and spice.

Serve with: braised beef, game, risotto all'Amarone or aged Parmesan. Decant before serving.
