Celler Masroig, Les Sorts Jove 2024

Celler Masroig is the cooperative of El Masroig, a village in Montsant, Catalonia. Montsant wraps around the more famous Priorat and makes similarly rich reds from Garnacha and Carignan, often from very old vines. 'Jove' means young: this is made by carbonic maceration (whole-bunch fermentation) for bright, juicy fruit.

Carbonic maceration gives notes of crunchy strawberries and cherries. Round, soft and remarkably fresh.

Serve with: tapas, chorizo, grilled meats or pizza. Lovely slightly cool.
