Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Vieilles Vignes 2022

Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famous for its white wines, but it also makes characterful reds. The Pillot family are long-established growers in the village, and this comes from old vines (vieilles vignes), which give extra depth.

Ripe red fruit, violets, subtle spice and a hint of minerality. Fine French oak adds a background of savoury, smoky flavours. Well balanced and complex, with a smooth finish.

Serve with: roast chicken, duck, veal or mushroom dishes.
