Yves Cuilleron, Cote Rotie Bassenon 2020

Yves Cuilleron is one of the northern Rhône's most respected winemakers, based in Chavanay, between Condrieu and Saint-Joseph. Côte-Rôtie, meaning 'roasted slope', is the northern Rhône's most northerly appellation, with steep terraces above the river. Syrah is traditionally co-fermented here with a little Viognier, which adds perfume and lift.

Dark fruits, with cherries, blackberries, spice, violets and a subtle smokiness.

Serve with: roast lamb, venison, duck or beef. Decant before serving.
