Pazo Señorans, Albariño, Rias Baixas, Spain, 2023

Pazo de Señorans is a 16th-century estate in Meis, in the Val do Salnés sub-zone of Galicia's Rías Baixas. Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque bought it in 1979 and helped create the Rías Baixas DO, and it remains one of the region's benchmark Albariño producers. The vineyards sit near the Atlantic on sandy, granitic soils.

Aromas of nectarine, fresh figs, orange zest and white flowers. Dry, with citrus flavours and a mineral-driven finish that expands and deepens on the tail end. A satisfying balance of power and finesse.

Serve with: shellfish, grilled fish, octopus, sushi or seafood paella.
