Eric Forest, St Veran Terre Noire 2024

Eric Forest is a small, highly regarded grower based in Vergisson, in the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé in the southern Mâconnais. Saint-Véran surrounds Pouilly-Fuissé and makes similarly rich Chardonnay at a gentler price. Terre Noire is a parcel of very old vines on dark clay soil.

From 100-year-old vines on a south-facing slope in the north of Davayé. The topsoil is 60cm of dark clay over fractured white limestone. The tiny grapes give an extremely concentrated style, with 20% new oak.

Serve with: roast chicken, scallops, lobster or aged Comté.
